On June 30, 2020, the 325k DWT VLOC No.9, constructed for Korea SK by DSIC, was signed and delivered successfully.
On June 29, 2020, the third 210k DWT bulk carrier “Golden Spirit”, continually constructed for Norway Frontline by Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry of DSIC, was signed and delivered successfully.
The 325k DWT VLOC No.9 The 325k DWT VLOC No.9 is a new generation of VLOC built for South Korean shipowners for the first time by DSIC. The whole ship is equipped with glass fiber reinforced plastic pipes for ballast system, exhaust gas sulfur oxide washing device, and LNG fuel reserve tank set for future demand, which conform to "environmental protection, energy saving, safety and firmness", with outstanding highlights and overall performance reaching the leading level in the world. The ship is 339.90 meters long, 62.00 meters wide, 29.50 meters deep and has a capacity of 325,000dwt. It is registered with KR and LR. Relying on the construction experience of series ship No.8 and the hard work of the DSIC staff, the ship reached the trial state in only 40 days and was highly praised by the shipowners. The 210k DWT Bulk Carrier No.18 The 210K DWT series bulk carrier is the largest Newcastle bulk carrier with high load capacity, low fuel consumption and high energy efficiency, which is independently developed and designed by Bohai Shipbuilding HeavyIndustry of DSIC. It has been optimized and upgraded to the 7th generation. The ship has a total length of 300 meters, a LPP of 294 meters, a width of 50 meters, a depth of 25.2 meters, a design draft of 16.1 meters, a structural draft of 18.5 meters and a design speed of 14.7 knots. With leading energy efficiency design, it meets the latest emission control requirements. During the construction process, the ship has set a record of the shortest sea trial period for the 210K DWT series bulk carrier, and has broken many construction records such as "the shortest slipway construction period", "the shortest construction period of upper internal decoration" and "the shortest coating period in winter", which shows the highest level of integrity and construction quality of 210K DWT bulk carriers, and also marks that the main ship type of Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry of DSIC has been in the forefront of the industry in the design and construction field. The successful delivery of this ship marks the realization of the production delivery target of Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry of DSIC in the first half of 2020.
