DSIC held a naming ceremony for No.76 308k DWT VLCC constructed for COSCO Shipping Energy on Oct.11, where CSIC Deputy General Manager He Jiwu, DSIC leaders Yang Zhizhong and Deng Changlian attended the ceremony and the distinguished guest Madam Yu Yang named the vessel as Xin Mao Yang.
Xin Mao Yang is the new-generation energy-saving environment-friendly VLCC developed independently by DSIC, a brand shiptype tailor made for COSCO Shipping Energy with great market competency. The vessel sails in unrestricted waters with an endurance more than 25000 nm, about 333m in loa, 60m in breadth molded, 308k tons in max. deadweight, capable of loading 2 million buckets of crude oil across the Strait of Malacca, greatly convenient for ship operation. The outstanding hull form, together with energy-saving M/E and new type large diameter high efficiency propeller, has boosted ship rapidity effectively. Also, the vessel is equiped with energy-saving device with proprietary intellectual property rights, such as energy-saving guide wheel and rudder bulb, to reduce energy loss effectively, improve stern wake field, boost propulsion efficiency and lower fuel consumption. Through a safe and good-looking design, and adoption of high-end and applicable equipment, systems and materials to promote ship quality, the vessel are of safety, ecology and economy at the same time.
During her construction, DSIC has taken boosting of launching integrity as a precondition, and technical preparation and production organization as a guide to strictly draw up the construction plans, act on their own initiative and refine responsibility. Through meticulous preliminary planning and site organization, all her undocking and sea trial integrity has reached a higher level, hull welding quality is high, and all systems have passed the examinations of sea trial smoothly, among which, the performance indicators such as speed, fuel consumption, and EEDI, etc. have attained the domestic leading level, received with a high praise from the shipowner.
